Folios 253-254: John Brett Purvis, HMS Amphion.
Responds to a letter about a Marine Society boy, John Brooke. He explains that the Master at Arms had overheard all the Marine Society boys agreeing to run away as soon as they were paid off. The captain made other arrangements about how their money should be paid. John Brooke ran off anyway so Purvis awaits instruction about what should be done with his money.
