Her Majesty's Government Communication Centre (HMGCC) provides electronics and software to support the communication needs of the British Government. HMGCC research, design and develop secure communication systems, hardware and software specifically for HM Government use, both at home and overseas. Its parent department was the former Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), now the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It is closely linked with the British intelligence community, including the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) and MI5.
