Place of accident: Oswestry, Shropshire.
Injury: Loss second finger of left hand at first joint.
Details of accident: Whilst coupling up brake rod on Engine he placed his finger in pin hole to ascertain if hole was clear for the pin, when the pinch bar holding brake rod of engine in position slipped allowing the rod to fall cutting off second finger of left hand at first joint.
