Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Nova Scotia.
Captured ship: Gladiator (master Stephen Dumarsq Turner).
Nationality: American.
History: bound from Ensenada, Buenos Aires to Boston, laden with tallow, specie and bullion; taken 21 April 1801 by HMS St Albans (John Oakes Hardy commanding), and brought into Halifax.
Appellant: The captor and HMPG.
The master for the ship on behalf of himself and Thomas Brewer merchant of Boston, and of parts of the cargo and specie for Thomas Brewer and others, and William Haven of Portsmouth, all American citizens.
Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 9 June 1803 (folios 1-61).
Decision: further proof required.
