Description

Folios 138-139. Monsieur Jean Mailly, Dublin, to James Payzant concerning the Irish vicate (of Kilronan in the Diocese of Ardagh, County Roscommon) which he is still hoping to secure. Having spoken to the Archdeacon Hern, who told him that the nomination of a clegyman is the responsibility of th Crown and doesn't depend on him or the Archbishop of Tuam. He urges Mailly to write to the Duke of Dorset, while the Chevalier Schaub is also mentioned in this regard. Madame Drelincourt, Monsieur Gerraise, and the Earl of Roscommon are also mentioned.
