Description

Folios 134-137. Everard Fawkener, General Post Office, to the Earl of Holderness enclosing a copy of a letter from James Clements at Harwich to George Shelvocke; refuting the allegation made by Jackson the messenger, that he and the King's mail were being deliberately delayed; and explaining the impossibility of complying with the Duke of Newcastle's demand that the mail arrive at Harwich at 11 o'clock on Saturday mornings.
