Folios 106-107. Deposition of John Patten of events following his capture in November 1750 by French soldiers under the command of Lieutenant Montigny and Captain Villy whilst trading with the Indians at the head of Niamee [? Miami] River' above the Falls of the Ohio.There is a nota bene that Patten 'has heard men, employed by Monsieur Cellaro, offer money to the Indians, to bring Englishmen, or their scalps'. Other people mentioned are Monsieur de la Jonquiere at Montreal, Louis Amette, captain of 'La Charmante Victoire, who took him to [La] Rochelle, and Thomas Bourke who 'gives the same account with John Patten, having, in every respect, undergone the same fate'.
