Three letters [bound out of sequence] from Edm [Edmund] Barham, Dover [Kent] to Lovell Stanhope concerning two soldiers named Ross and Harbit of the 3rd Regiment of Guards persuaded by one Darby to desert and enlist in the French service [the depositions referred to are not enclosed] and reporting Darby's arrest on a warrant from the Earl of Holderness. Other names mentioned are Colonel Stuart, Colonel Whitworth, Captain Christie, the Earl of Berkeley, Colonel Rich and Mr Turner.
