Description

Folios 46-49. (1) Petition by Wm [William] Harvey, John Conyers and Jas [James] Champain to the Duke of Newcastle praying that royal approval be given for a proclamation offering a pardon and reward to any person except the perpetrator, who discovers the murderer of George Carey, higgler [pedlar] of Epping, Essex. (2) Draft advertisement for the [London] Gazette giving details of the murder and descriptions of two suspects one of whom is named as Edward William alias Ned the hardware man.
