Petition of Alexander Hay, linen manufacturer in Banff [Scotland] alleging bribery and intimidation by James Rogers, a justice of the Peace in Lancashire, and Mr Proben, Clerk to the Auditor of the Exchequer; asking for their arrest and an advance towards his 'great losses and sufferings and defraying of his expenses while carrying on such a laudable design'.
