W [William] Cowell and Tho [Thomas] Tremlett, Collector and Comptroller of Customs at Dartmouth to the Commissioners of Customs, London giving the results of their search of the chest, directed for Mr Linch and left behind by Mrs Hay on her departure and saying that, despite their efforts, they were not been able to establish Mrs Hay as being Mrs Chalmers. The name Countess of Wigtoune is mentioned.
