Folios 146-150. (1) H [Hugh] V [Valence] Jones to Wm [William] Wood for immediate orders to be given for detaining and strictly examining Mrs Hay and also the chest directed to Mr Linch. The Duke of Newcastle is mentioned. Draft. (2) Wm [William] Wood to Mr Jones that the necessary orders have been given to the officers of the Waterguard from the Downs to Gravesend. He also encloses a copy of a further letter from the Collector and Comptroller of Dartmouth giving more information about the Scottish gentlewoman.
