Folios 134-141. (1) Petition of Samuel Eager praying for mercy on the grounds that he disclosed, at risk to his own life, a plot by some of the convicts, since executed, to escape. (2) Recommendation for clemency signed by 44 people and affidavit by Francis Stewart. (3) Recommendation of the former sheriffs of London and Middlesex and the memorial of Richard Akerman, Keeper of Newgate on which he has drawn pictures of the genuine key to the Press Yard and the false key to be used by Edward Dixon and John Catchpole in their escape attempt.
