Folios 128-129. R [?Richard] Dauber, Collector of Excise Norwich [Norfolk] reporting that five people put ashore at Lowestoft one of whom 'was a genteel middle sized man', another 'was dressed in woman's clothes, had on a brown silk gown, a Capuchin, and much muffled about the head, by which little of the face could be seen, walked very awkward and pretty tall; one of the other men looked like a woman and a little dirty' and that what makes this look important is that he has heard some of the Customs' officers have been told to keep a strict look-out for a person expected to land somewhere in England, dressed in woman's clothing, who they were to examine and secure.
