Undated memorandum of Colonel [George] Townshend's request that the report on the case of John Jermyn be delayed, if possible, Townshend having discovered that Thomas Bartram, who swore an affidavit in order to counter Townshend's application for mercy on behalf of Jermyn, is in fact Thomas Smith alias Tossler an outlawed smuggler. Mr Nuthall, Mr Jones, Cullington, Leader, Fox, Jeffreys, [Robert] Solomon [Salmon], [James] Holt and Robert Clarke alias Plunder are mentioned.
