Folio 133. Petition of Charles, Lord Mordington praying that he may be forthwith discharged from his imprisonment in Carlisle or that he 'may have such indulgence and allowance as is usual for persons of your petitioner's quality or that he may have such other relief' as thought expedient. [Lord Mordington had been arrested on 24 September 1745, indicted at Carlisle for High Treason as a commoner by the name of Charles Douglas and having successfully pleaded his peerage any further procedure was stopped by the judges.]
