Folios 97-100. (1) Petition of John Elliott for letters patent for his invention of a method of printing, painting, staining and colouring flannels and other woollens. With referral signed by the Duke of Bedford and affidavit of John Elliott. (2) Report of D [Dudley] Ryder, Attorney-General, to the King [George ll] recommending that the patent be granted for a term of 14 years in England, Wales and the town of Berwick upon Tweed conditional on Elliott enrolling in Chancery a description of his invention within a reasonable time.
