Bargain and sale by Henry Hastings, earl of Huntingdon, to Elizabeth I of the manors of South Cadbury and Holton, Somerset, of Kirby and Packington, Leicestershire, and of Henley upon Thames with the park of Henley, Oxfordshire, plus his lands and tenements in the hamlets and towns of South Cadbury, Holton, Kirby, Packington, and Henley aforesaid. This bargain and sale nullifies an earlier indenture, whereby Hastings agreed to surrender the manors of North Cadbury, Somerset, of Evington and Bosworth, Leicestershire, and of Henley upon Thames with the park of Henley, Oxfordshire, with his lands and tenements in the said towns, as surety for the repayment of a £4000 debt, originally owed to the queen by Sir Thomas Lodge, alderman of London. This new indenture voids all earlier agreements relating to this debt. Two final concords attached. Sealed by Hastings and the chief officers of the Exchequer, being William Paulet, Lord Treasurer, Sir Walter Mildmay, chancellor of the Exchequer [seal removed], Gilbert Gerrard, attorney general, and Thomas Bromley, solicitor general. 12 Eliz I
