Folio 86. Petition of Lewis Paul of Birmingham, in the County of Warwick to Thomas [Bennett] Lord Archbishop of Canterbury. Having invented a machine for the carding of wool, cotton, and raw silk, the petitioner desires to be granted royal letters patent for the term of fourteen years. The said invention to be enrolled in the High Court of Chancery.
