Folios 83-84. Memorial of the Spanish [trade] Merchants of London to the Duke of Newcastle. Referring to His Majesty's order (published in the London Gazette) of 1742 which ended the prohibition on the import of Spanish wool and barilla [phosphate]. As a result of Parliament's trade embargo of 1746, highlighting the numerous advantages for British commerce with the Spanish [Empire] now that the [Bourbon] Court of Spain had acceded to the preliminaries for a general peace.
