Encloses his certificate invaliding him from HMS Tenedos on the Halifax Station, dated 12 May. Subsequently he was made Commander and appointed to the Rover on the same station, but has to tell them that he is obliged to quit due to the severity of the climate. He is very grateful for the honour and hopes to serve in some more temperate climate than America. Sets out the details of when his half pay is due and at what rank.
