Folios 261-262: George Parker, 58 George St, Portman Square.
Writes with regard to the Admiralty's 'Public Advertisement' of the 16th May, to say that he had been in command of HMS Bombay at Portsmouth until he was relieved of the command by Captain Henry Bazely, on the 18th May and thus commenced half-pay on the 19th. He adds that this was at his own request, as he had need to spend time on his own affairs in 'detached parts of the Empire' and was unwilling to request the necessarily lengthy leave of absence to do so.
