Condition/Injury/Disease: Malaria.
Details and Outcome: Onset of disease, 24/05/1915; symptoms include numbness of left leg, shivering, rigor and headache. Patient had previously had malaria in Rhodesia and Johannesburg. Patient also complaining of nasal problems; had nasal operation around 1899 for ?nasal growth. Rhinoscopy and other ear, nose and throat examinations carried out, details given; abnormalities detected including pharyngitis (the patient said to be an excessive smoker) and laryngitis. Nasal septum resection suggested, but patient noted to be suffering from nervous trouble, perhaps due to malaria. Nasal operation performed, 18/06/1915. Patient fit for discharge by 25/06/1915.
