Name: Harry Howarth.

Rank: Private.

Unit/Battalion/Regiment: The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding).

Service number: 12680.

Age: 20.

Hospital(s): 2nd Western General Hospital, Manchester.

Condition/Injury/Disease: Debility following dysentery.

Details and Outcome: Onset of illness October 1915, attack lasted 2 weeks. Previously had dysentery in September 1915. Ailments listed: diarrhoea, too frequent stools, pain in stomach. Case sheet notes patient inoculated against enteric March 1915. Patient receives news his father has died suddenly. Deemed not fit for discharge but fit for travel. Granted furlough 24/11/1915 to 28/11/1915. Returns 1 day late from furlough. Stools to be examined. Next of kin address listed: father, Mr Howarth, 26 Union Street, Triangle, Halifax, Yorkshire. 2 pathological laboratory reports attached. Faeces tests negative for pathogens. Discharged, 10 days sick furlough.
