Folio 264-265: Sir Thomas Staines, HMS Hamadryad, the Downs. Reports his arrival with the East India Company ships and the Southseaman convoy under his command. HMS Diomede also sailed under his orders from St Helena but reports that on 12 August he ordered Captain Hugh Cook to proceed with HMS Diomede to Flores to buy meat and vegetables for HMS Hamadryad but she did not return. Encloses copies of Captain George Byng's orders to him, and his orders to Hugh Cook, his log and a list of ships and vessels boarded by the boats of HMS Hamadryad.

Folios 267-268: Enclosure with folios 264-265: Extract from the St Helena Monthly register June 1811. Describes the ships lying at anchorage at St Helena Road including HMS Hamadryad; the American which had sailed from Canton with HMS Grampus, seven Indiaman, two Portuguese, the Canada Botany Bay ship and parting company from them off North Island on 30 April. Describes sightings of other unnamed large ships during the voyage. The East India Company ship the Walmer Castle sailed from St Helena on 8 June 1811 for Bencoolen and China. Also extract of letter from Captain Leigh of the East India Company Packet Georgiana, off the Needles point, 25 August 1811, stating second part of the China fleet expected at St Helena shortly, having been spoken to in the Straits of Sunda by an American, HMS Grampus and their convoy.
Folios 269-270: Enclosure with folios 264-265: Captain George Byng, HMS Belliqueux, St Helena Roads, 8 June 1811 to Sir Thomas Staines, Captain of HMS Hamadryad. Copy of order to Sir Thomas Staines to await the arrival of two convoys under HMS Grampus and HMS Diomede from China, Madras and Bengal and to put himself either under the orders of Captain William Hanwell of HMS Grampus or take charge of HMS Diomede's convoy and proceed to the Downs not calling at any port in Ireland. To take guidance from Colonel Alexander Beatson as to which convoy he should join.
Folios 271-272: Enclosure with folios 264-265: Sir Thomas Staines, HMS Hamadryad, 16 June 1811 to Captain Hugh Cook, HMS Diomede. Copy of order to Cook put himself under his command.
Folios 272 -272: Enclosure with folios 264-265: Sir Thomas Staines, HMS Hamadryad, 12 August 1811 to Captain Hugh Cook, HMS Diomede. Copy of order for Cook to sail to Island of Floresand to procure enough meat and vegtables for 214 men on HMS Hamadryad and the crew and eight oxen on HMS Diomede.
