Folio 185-186: Matthew Smith, HMS Comus, Spithead. Reports his arrival from Cadiz and encloses a copy of his Orders and ask for the accompanying letter to be forwarded to the Admiralty. Advises that the His Excellency the Duke del Infantado is to disembark at Portsmouth but who has asked if HMS Comus can proceed to London along the Thames so his elderly mother, the Duchess, can reach their London home more easily, as well as enabling their suite and luggage - which includes 12 to 14 tuns of wine, carriages and horses - to be off loaded.
Folios 187-188: Enclosure with folios 185-186: John Barrow, Admiralty Office, 22 August 1811 to W Hamilton. Draft request to the Lord Commissioners regarding the transport arrangements for the Duchess del Infantado, with annotations and corrections by Croker suggesting that HMS Comus now at Sheerness, does not sail up the River Thames but should send her yacht with the Duchess to Greenwich where she will be met by the State Barge.
Folios 189-190: Enclosure with folios 185-186: Rear Admiral Sir Arthur Kage Legge to Matthew Smith, HMS Comus. Orders, at the request of Henry Wellesley, to convey the Duke del Infantado, newly appointed Ambassador from the Regency of Spain, to England and report his arrival on reaching Spithead.
