Folios 184-185: Commander Charles Pickford, 39 Parliament Street, Westminster. Advises that as he has no hopes of a command in the near future, and finding his half-pay inadequate to support his family, he would like permission to apply to serve in one of HM allies' fleets, and would be grateful if they would let him have certificates to prove his rank.
Folios 186-187: Enclosure in folios 184-185. John Barrow, 7 June 1810, to Captain John Mackellar. Response of the Admiralty to Captain John Mackellar, of the RN, regarding his request of 26 May, to be allowed to offer his services to the Spanish Navy, that His Majesty has given his permission.
