Folio 176: Charles Frederick Payne, HMS Cretan off West Capel. Forwards a letter from Mr Fisher, the carpenter of the Cretan, whom Payne recommends as a 'clever, deserving, fit man' for the appointment he is soliciting.
Folios 177-178: Enclosure with folio 176. John Fisher, Carpenter, HMS Cretan off West Capel, 10 September 1813, to John Wilson Croker, Admiralty. Requests he may be appointed to HMS Tigress, currently at Chatham, as he has been informed that the ship has no carpenter.
