Folio 117. Petition of John Sargent, Boatswain of His Majesty's dockyard at Chatham. Having been in the service some twenty years, was master of several vessels, the 'Royal Escape' being the last, and was appointed Boatswain of Woolwich in 1738. Being in his present position since 1741, seeks preferment for the next vacancy as master attendent in any one of the King's dockyards in England.
