Folios 109-111. Petition of John Roberson with Judge Wright's report. That the petitioner was tried at the last assizes at Chelmsford for stealing five shirts, five stockings, a copper saucepan and a pewter pot, and sentenced to be transported to His Majesty's colonies. That he may be included in the next general pardon for 'poor convicts' on the Home Circuit. Whereupon Roberson was stopped and searched at the Stratford turnpike and found to have shirts and other things mentioned in the indictment, which he claimed to have found. The prisoner upon this evidence was acquitted of burglary but found guilty of a felony.
