Folios 102-103. William Bowles to Newcastle. Interceeding for the life of one, Stewart a rebel prisoner who saved the 'life of my brother' and several others at the Battle of Prestonpans [in September 1745], and whose pardon has been ignored. Being in a miserable condition here, as a 'perfect stranger' in England, begs for his return to Scotland.
