Description

Folios 57-58. The Bishop of Sailsbury to Newcastle. Comments on the 'melancholy' situation of affairs abroad, and French influence in Holland in particular [i.e since the Battle of Lauffeld, and the taking of Bergen op Zoon]. Recommends an ageing chaplain to fill the vacancy of the dying Dean of Exeter.
