Description

Prisoner name: Joseph Barker.

Prisoner occupation: Coal vender.

Court and date of trial: Lancaster Midsummer Sessions 1824.

Crime: Stealing from the person.

Initial sentence: Imprisonment for 2 years.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil.

Petitioner(s): Robert Barker, the prisoner, and undersigned by five others.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Led astray by others, first offence, respectable family, father will set him up in business, family dependent on his wages, ill heath (inflammation from old injury).
