Description

Prisoner name: George Rowson.

Prisoner occupation: Glass maker.

Court and date of trial: Magistrates' court, September 1836.

Crime: Absenting himself from his employer's service.

Initial sentence: Three months imprisonment.

Annotated (Outcome): Remission prepared, 21 October 1836.

Petitioner(s): Two petitions from Thomas Robinson and Company, Orford Lane Glass Works, Warrington, the prisoner's employers, undersigned by 106 glass makers and workmen of Warrington.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Family dependent on his earnings.

Other papers: Letter from Thomas Lyon, committing magistrate, recommending mitigation of sentence.

Additional Information: Prisoner held in Kirkdale gaol.
