Folios 404-405: Richard Prater, Regulating Captain, Lynn, Norfolk. Responds to the Admiraly concerning the case of James Goat. Captain Prater says James Goat was referred to him by the Mayor of Lynn because of a misdemeanor. He accepted him as suitable for the Royal Navy. He had no knowledge of James Goat having paid Captain Bowyer for a substitute in 1804 or of the fact he was married.
Folios 406-407: Enclosure in folios 404-405: Mary Goat, The Black Horse, Lynn, 9 June 1813, to the Admiralty. Letter concerning the pressing of her husband James Goat.
Folio 408: Enclosure in folios 404-405: Captain R. B. Bowyer, Regulating Officer, Lynn. States that James Goat did provide a substitute to serve in his stead.
