Folios 214-215: Charles Frederick Payne, HMS Cretan, Sheerness. Advises that Lieutenant Stevenson has replied to a letter addressed to him [Capt. Payne] concerning his wish to be superseded directly to the Admiralty without going through his Captain. He further requests that anyone appointed to the ship be junior to 2nd Lieutenant Robbins made Lieutenant in September 1810.
