This piece comprises a large collection of assessment rolls relating to the administration in the various hundreds of Leicestershire of the poll tax granted to Richard II in 1379. For ease of reference, the piece has been divided into fourteen parts; however, the relationship between the various parts is not always clear.
Part 4 of this piece is an individual assessment for Goscote hundred, and forms the duplicate copy of E 179/133/26 Parts 1-3, although the places are listed in a slightly different order and there are some minor variations in the lists of taxpayers. Four further membranes that were once attached to the head of this roll are now E 179/133/30 and E 179/133/28 mm 1-3 (see notes for those pieces).
