This single parchment membrane is the particulars of account of the abbot and convent of Newsome, as collectors in the archdeaconry of Stow, in the diocese of Lincoln, of the second of two tenths on unassessed benefices granted to Henry VI by the clergy of the province of Canterbury in convocation on 3 March 1453, due to have been paid on 11 November 1456. The document is undated, but was probably around the time that the tax was due to have been paid.

The document can only be read with the aid of a UV lamp.
