County or diocese: Lincoln.
Grant: Clerical tenth from Canterbury province, 1446 July 8 or earlier.
Document type: Account.
Folios or pages: 1.
This single sheet of parchment is an account rendered at the Exchequer by the abbot and convent of Nutley, as collectors in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, in the diocese of Lincoln, of the first half of the tenth granted to Henry VI by the clergy of the province of Canterbury in the convocation that began on 22 June 1446. The account was rendered by their attorney John Dryver. It is undated, and although it should have been written around 24 June 1447, when the first half was due to be collected, a note in the upper left hand corner recording that the account was not examined at the Exchequer until Easter term 26 Henry VI, which would have ended around 3 May 1448, suggests that the document was written on or just before that date.
The document is wholly legible.
