This is the appointment of John [Marshall], bishop of Llandaff, of collectors and certificate of exemption for the clerical tenth granted to Edward IV in 1481, for the diocese of Llandaff.
The document is in fair condition, but is faded in places.
Ultra-violet light does assist in reading the text, but in some small areas, such as the place of dating and day of the month in the date, the text is almost illegible.
The document is endorsed with a dated note of delivery into the Exchequer by Robert Rose, chaplain.
The collectors for both instalments of the tenth are given as the prior and convent of Llanthony Secunda, and all benefices in the diocese are to be exempted from payment.
