To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: George T Moore, Town Clerk of Warrington [Lancashire].
Subject Matter: Letter regarding land the Corporation proposes to sell. It is explained that the land, consisting of freehold and leasehold, was bought for the purposes of building a new street called Academy Street in 1864 and it is now proposed to sell the excess land, which requires a license from the Crown. He submits that the consent asked for in the memorial [petition] already sent to the Home Secretary does not require a second petition to be sent to the Lords of the Treasury.
