To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: William Quekett, Rector of Warrington, The Rectory, Warrington [Lancashire].
Subject Matter: Letter advising that he has been absent from his Rectory for 15 months 'attributable to the unhealthy atmosphere I am obliged to live in'. He submits that he returned a month ago in good health but both he and his wife are ill again. He explains that all the trees around his house, garden, and churchyard are dying or dead.
He asks whether an Inspector is likely to visit Warrington soon so that he can make plans accordingly.
