To: Edward Strick, Clerk to the Swansea Local Board of Health, Swansea [Glamorganshire].
From: The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Draft letter, in reply to a letter of 11 October 1851, advising that the Local Board may call on the professional assistance of a Superintending Inspector or any other engineer they may prefer. Strick is advised that a Superintending Inspector is not at liberty to make any visits to a District after the Public Health Act 1848 has been applied there, except for the purposes of inquiry, for advice or assistance, or for mortgage of the rates.
