To: The General Board of Health.
From: Captain William Yolland, Ordnance Map Office, Southampton [Hampshire].
Subject Matter: Letter, in reply to a letter of 7 January 1851, advising that amount of labour necessary to produce the desired plan of the Borough of Swansea [Glamorganshire] will depend on the length of the roads there. He states that it is not possible to give an estimate of the time or cost of such a survey without local knowledge or a special examination by an officer of the Ordnance Department on the ground.
