Folio 52.
To: George Grant Francis, Burrows Lodge, Swansea [Glamorganshire].
From: The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Draft letter answering queries contained in a letter of 16 November 1849. Francis is advised that all the expenses incurred under the Public Health Act 1848 must be paid for from rates made under the Act. He is informed that the application of the Act to Swansea is likely to take place during the next session of Parliament, after which time the Local Board may request the visit of a Superintending Inspector to assist them in their deliberations. It is stated that the Local Board will have to pay the cost of this.
