Appeal from the Vice Admiralty Court of Jamaica.
Captured ship: La Fortune of St Malo (master Etienne Croupier de Kandan).
History: a French ship (65 men), bound from St Malo and Plymouth to Saint Domingue and to trade in the Caribbean, laden with Frnch and English cargo which sold for 80,000 pieces of eight; taken on 16/27 August 1743 about 18 leagues off Cartagena by HMS Montague (William Chambers commanding), and brought into Jamaica.
