Captured ship: La Conquerante Marie Anne of Dieppe (commander Jacques Anquetil).
History: a French privateer (20 tons, 34 men, 4 boys, 2 carriage guns, 8 swivel guns) bound from Dieppe on a cruise to Calais; taken in fight on 29 July / 9 August 1745 about 18 leagues off Beachy Head after a fight of 4 to 5 hours by the privateer Eagle snow (John Bazeley commanding) and brought into Dover.
