Folio 2: Title page.

Folio 3: Explanatory note. During the period of the War, papers of a confidential nature in the office of the C-in-C Home Fleet were filed in Packs (numbered separately from the non-confidential records) in a Series 001 to 0042 inclusive. Copies of relevant telegrams were filed in these packs, but a complete set of all telegrams was also maintained. The secret packs were re-arranged by the Grand Fleet secretarial staff in February 1919, when papers considered unimportant were removed and destroyed, and the remainder re-indexed. They were received in this form by the Historical Section in April 1920, and bound as received, in a series of Volumes. The 1919 index will be found in the first volume (see ADM 137/1881) and extracts from these have been inserted in each succeeding volume. This volume is the 31st of the series.

Folio 6: Contents page. 10th Cruiser Squadron – Reports of proceedings 1915. Note. The following reports of proceedings typically enclose; a list of ships intercepted and sent in [to a British port], movements of ships of, and trawlers attached to, 10th cruiser squadron, directional analysis of ships intercepted and sent in, chart showing positions of vessels sent in.

Folios 58-63: 3. Neutral vessels allowed to use the Northern Route provide they call at Kirkwall. Covering sheet 19 December 1914 and Memorandum No 038/7, 17 December 1914. Lists give names of vessels for each relevant shipping company.

Folios 64-99: 4.Vessels ‘sent in’ [to Kirkwall] 11 March 1915 to 31 July 1915. Each return gives numbers of ships, destination and cargo details by country but not names of vessels.

Folios 68-69: Covering note No 3, 28 April 1915 and extract of report 22 April 1915 by Sub-Lieutenant RB O’Brien RNR in charge of prize crew sent on board SS Maud.

Folios 70-71: Covering note No 35, 31 May 1915 with letter No 5/030, 12 June 1915 concerning comments on report of proceedings of Cruiser Force “B”. Folios 72-90: Report of proceedings No 35/100, 31 May 1915 for period 28 April to 31 May 1915.
