Prisoner name: William Cooke.

Prisoner age: 20.

Prisoner occupation: Employee of Messrs Smith and Timmell bullion dealers of Piccadilly [London].

Court and date of trial: Old Bailey September Sessions 1827.

Crime: Embezzling two sovereigns from his employers.

Initial sentence: Transportation for 14 years.

Gaoler's report: Conduct orderly.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil February 22 1828.

Petitioner(s): Prisoner and 6 signatories.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Lost the money when out paying bill; recommended to mercy his employer; respectable connections; previous good character.
