Description

Prisoner name: David Audsley.

Prisoner occupation: Labourer.

Court and date of trial: West Riding of Yorkshire Michaelmas Quarter Sessions held at Leeds September 1827.

Crime: Feloniously threatening to accuse Jonathan Denton of an infamous crime with intent to extort money.

Initial sentence: Transportation for 14 years.

Gaoler's report: Bad character.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil 1 March 1828.

Petitioner(s): Elizabeth Audsley prisoner's wife and 122 signatories.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): No money to employ defence counsel; hard working; honest; previous good character; family dependants.
